I’ve loved Flamecraft since the first moment I’ve played it. I’ve had these Series 1 mini figures around and I’ve always wanted to try painting mini figures. But I was nervous. What if I messed up these cute lil figures? Or what if the paint job wasn’t any good or didn’t look any good to me? After talking it over with a few friends and coworkers, I decided to take the plunge. And I’m so glad that I did! These are officially the first mini figures that I’ve completed in my whole life and I love how they look!

After I finish the Animal Adventures mini figures, I’m going to paint the Series 2 Flamecraft mini figures as well. But that may take a bit… it took me nearly a year on and off painting the Series 1 minis and the Fancy Dragon piece.

Here’s all the pics of the process that I did capture, and the final paints. My apologies, as I didn’t always remember to take pics during the process. 😅

Skewart

Skewart seemed like the perfect place to start painting this series. He was only 1-3 main colors, and the scales were defined enough to try some washes and dry brushing.

I did forget to take more photos while painting, so there’s a rather large gap in the photos below from detailing the base coat to the finished painted mini. I think this is because I was so focused on trying to get the details just right over such a long period of time and trying to figure everything out, that I just forgot.

And I didn’t realize the eye size and the eyebrow ridge on the model when initially painting it. So the eye is probably a bit bigger and without an eyebrow like the others would soon have.

Oh well… I do love how this final paint came out especially considering this is the first mini figure that I’ve ever completed! He looks like a happy lil artisan dragon, ready to help at your next BBQ.
